On October 18, the KIWI program officially concluded. This two-year training program was designed to prepare water professionals for international projects and to boost climate adaptation efforts abroad. KIWI stands for Climate and Innovation Program for Water Boards International, and it is funded by the NWB Fund.

To mark the occasion, a magazine was published: the KIWI Magazine, in which the KIWI participants share what they’ve learned from the training and from working abroad. And it turns out to be quite a lot—especially when it comes to flexibility and improvisation skills.

But that’s not all. The magazine also features articles on international cooperation from different perspectives—such as water board governance, management, coaches, and foreign water managers. In short, it’s a kaleidoscope of reflections on international water board work. It provides a clear picture of what is being learned and why this work matters for water boards.

We don’t just bring knowledge—we bring plenty back with us too.

The KIWI Magazine is a co-production of the NWB Fund and the Blue Deal, the largest implementation program of the Dutch water boards.
